Why I'm Going To CES

The biggest tech trade show in the United States is just a few hours away, and as I prepare for my flight to Vegas (Baby) I’ll be attending my very FIRST CES conference along with my fellow colleagues from ALPHA; Katharine Belloir and Stephen Olshansky. Seasoned CES-ers Steve Greene and Erik Williams will be there too, getting in this year’s action.

So I thought I’d answer the question that I’ve been getting from some people leading up to this trip.

“Why are YOU going to CES?!”

But that’s the wrong question. The right question is, “Why is this just the first time you’re going to CES?”

CES is the one event year after year that brings together the innovators on technology’s cutting edge. And for just four days, Vegas will glow brighter with the connected TVs, tablets, cars, etc., of our future.

I’ll be exploring more than 2,700 exhibitors stretched over more than 1.8 million square feet of exhibit space over the next three days. It’s so large, ESPN will be staging a full-size boxing match on the show floor and broadcasting it in 3D!

If you say, “You’re a designer. What would a designer get from going to CES?”

I’ll tell you that design will be everywhere from exhibits to products. In addition to seeing it all, I’ll gain a hands-on understanding of the technology that is altering the way we shop, communicate, consume media, and experience brands that will be of key importance in successfully developing campaigns for our clients’ success at the consumer level.

Just hours away from being immersed in the newest new offerings our clients Samsung and Lenovo will have, I can’t wait to be inspired from what is —CES.

Stay up to date with the team and follow us on Twitter and Facebook where we’ll be sharing photos and comments live from the show floor!
