Why I'm Going To CES

The biggest tech trade show in the United States is just a few hours away, and as I prepare for my flight to Vegas (Baby) I’ll be attending my very FIRST CES conference along with my fellow colleagues from ALPHA; Katharine Belloir and Stephen Olshansky. Seasoned CES-ers Steve Greene and Erik Williams will be there too, getting in this year’s action.

Do you remember Myspace? If yes, then you probably remember bands. They assaulted you with nonstop friend requests, event invites, and constant messages to “check out our new song produced by someone else you’ve never heard of.” If, like me, you were in one of those bands, then you got it worse.

I’ve noticed a few “apology” ads as of late, or companies practicing a little self-deprecation in their marketing efforts. “Sorry” is nice, but are these companies really cleaning up their mess or trying to figure out ways not to make one in the first place?
