Dash of Inspiration Photo Contest

In early 2010, Sony Electronics launched a new Personal Internet Viewer called the Sony Dash. To help spread product awareness, Sony Electronics enlisted ALPHA to create a Facebook promotion that would engage new and existing fans alike. Promotion goals included increasing awareness of the Dash, gaining digital exposure and helping consumers envision how they can use the new Dash.

ALPHA designed and developed a custom Facebook photo contest enabling fans to submit photos and captions showing how they use, or would use, the Sony Dash in their daily lives. To further increase traffic and exposure to the contest application, a weekly sweepstakes drawing was held for all eligible entrants; Sony prizes were awarded for winning entries. After a four-week submission period, the entries were narrowed down to 10 finalists by a panel of Sony Bloggers. The finalists’ entries were then presented for public voting to select the Dash of Inspiration Grand Prize Winner.
